University of Chapel Hill, NC Center for Literacy and Disabilities Studies – Karen Erickson is the director of the center. She is a former teacher of children with significant disabilities.  Her research and presentations focus on issues related to literacy, assistive technologies, AAC, and the learning characteristics of persons with significant disabilities.  There are some powerful videos on this site.
